Our Level of Care

In the equestrian industry, unfortunately not all care is the same.

At Blackwood Manor, we hold ourselves to the highest level of care. You will not find facilities with inadequate space, limited access to turnout, or horses that are unmonitored or left out to fend for themselves in extreme weather. We are uncompromising in our level of ethics to our horses. Access to turnout is 24/7 and will never be limited due to an oversized number of occupants. Horses are brought into their stalls every evening and assessed, then checked again after a night’s sleep curled up on soft bedding. Health and condition are monitored on a routine basis. Blackwood Manor Farm’s owners live on site and cameras placed strategically in the barn help us keep a watchful eye even through the night. Working with our veterinarians and farriers for prevention is first priority. Horses are always blanketed in cold weather. Blankets are never left on a horse when the temperature has warmed. Our miniature and pony sized stalls are custom designed. We are committed to maintaining a small, top quality environment to ensure that a horse and its rider are never overlooked.

Rehabilitation Boarding

In addition to our standard boarding we provide intensive rehabilitation care boarding, with longer term boarding than hospitals provide, under intensive 24/7 watch to ensure your athlete continues to get and feel better. Our indoor stalls are equipped with a camera monitoring system and soft rubber paver footing that absorbs shock in injured horses. Massage therapy sessions based on practical medicine are also offered.
